MC Bravado’s latest visuals are for “Rapper/Teacher”, the emcee’s take on Johnny Cash’s revered “Walk the Line” single. The video was shot, directed, and edited by Andrew Bryan of Fill in the Brand. Production work on the song is handled by Militant Marxman and the track features SC Static, and No-Name, all of whom are members of MC Bravado’s Cypher Junkies crew.
MC Bravado’s “Walk the Line” (Walk the Line FreEP) showcases an artist interweaving an iconic musician’s experiences, outlooks, and soundscapes with those of his own, resulting in a thoughtfully crafted, well-executed conceptual EP that does both parties justice. This ode to Johnny Cash was released as a free download, October 13 (the same day Cash was inducted into the CMA Hall of Fame) on Bandcamp. Currently the project is available for purchase on iTunes as well as CDBaby if you desire a physical copy. The EP features additional guest appearances/production from Soul Khan of the Brown Bag All-Stars, (Rolling Stone featured) YouTube sensation Anthony Vincent of Ten Second Songs, all of the members of MC Bravado’s own Cypher Junkies crew, and more.
Prior to the NY Native/Current Baltimore city English teacher’s latest release, Bravado has worked with the likes of Mac Lethal, J57 and KONCEPT of BBAS, EP of the Doppelgangaz, Copywrite, Dylan Owen, and more. His unflappable, left-field approach, distinct delivery, and almost peerless lyricism continue to make him an artist to watch, with each entry in NY Native’s ever-growing catalog seemingly outshining its predecessor.
