Free Mixtape: MC Bravado – The Darwin Files Vol 1

“The Darwin Files Vol 1″ is a (FREE!!) 25 song smorgasbord of mixtape recordings compiled over the last cpl years. The majority of these recordings are post “the illy-ad” album and demonstrate the continued growth that MC Bravado has shown over said period. I owe the progression that’s led to where I currently reside as an artist to the time I spent on this mixtape. In addition to post debut album recordings, there are four bonus “old-school” tracks that were recorded and mixed on my 12 track. This is a shining example of innovative lyricism for the eclectic hip-hop head. Enjoy!

Video: Has-Lo “Hindsight” (prod. Apollo Brown)

One of our favorite East Coast emcees Has-Lo, has a new video remix utilizing new footage, new filters, and new angles for the Apollo Brown remixed version of the song Limit, now titled Hindsight. The new version from Apollo is a striped down and haunting affair that puts Has’ man on the edge lyrical display in focus.

The occassion? MMG is getting ready for an early fall release of Has-Lo’s critically acclaimed debut mmg album “In Case I Don’t Make It” on limited edition 180 gram vinyl. Has-Lo is also busy preparing a new project with North Carolina emcee Castle for release on Mello Music Group later this year.

Highly-respected rapper/producer and The Cool Kids member Chuck Inglish is preparing to unleash his debut collection of solo material, the Droptops EP. The project, a prelude to Inglish’s as yet-unscheduled freshman full-length, Convertibles, was inspired by a night spent in a droptop Bonneville during this year’s South by Southwest festival and the good vibes of spending a summer in Los Angeles. Droptops packs nine original records from the Midwestern stalwart, including singles “Drops” and “Tangerine.” Inglish produces all tracks on the EP, which is mixed and mastered by Glenn Sounds (for Truth Studios) and Troy Mitchell. Asher Roth, Buddy, Dash and Retch, Jane Jupiter, Kashflow and Sulaiman make guest appearances throughout the set.
