Beat Tape: PHAX – The Crispy Files 12″
Producer PHAX from Leipzig, Germany releases his Beat Tape “The Crispy Files”.
Making beats and djing since 1999, PHAX is no rookie to the game. In 2004 he joined the 724Goodfellas and has produced songs for artists like Freeman of french supergroup IAM, Germany’s Tone and Europe’s biggest Hip Hop magazine JUICE. Together with DJ Saibz & DJ D-fekt he forms the DJ team “Like Ham in The Pan”.
“The Crispy Files” 12″ is a compilation of beats, both old and new, all carrying the signature “crispy” sound, which gave this EP its name.
These beats are to flow over, for DJs to cut and for fans of Boom Bap to enjoy.
Physical copies of “The Crispy Files” are available via hhv.de, vinyl-digital.de, ughh.com, as well as PHAX’ bandcamp page where you can listen to the full EP and also get a digital copy.
Free Album: S.Keen – This Is My Intro
Everybody says they want to be different, change the game, or break the mold of the normal. Sdotkeen even used these words when explaining his style not realizing he sounded similar to artists that were out there.
With Sdotkeen’s third project “This is my Intro”, he truly flipped the script. Not using any samples or music or instruments to make the tracks for all the songs. Everything was done acapella. With vocals, beatbox, harmonies placed in a way that gives the illusion of sampled music. Then he added dope lyrics with a vibe some might say is low key and creative. He calls it Acapella style, but it might be Hip-Harmony!
Hope you enjoy the ride.
