The Masterminds release the latest video off their album “Giant Antlers”. The song is titled “Fight Music” and features Murs and Slug of Atmosphere.
The Masterminds have also decided to make their album available with a “Pay what you like” option at their Bandcamp page.
On their Facebook Page they explained why:
“so the last couple days my google alerts for giant antlers have been going off with news that the web rip of the record is available on rapidshare, and the usual download sites. it was inevitable. and this is not going to be one of those damn piracy rants. that would be very hypocritical of me as i have pirated my fair share of music (or more than) over the years.
at the same time we did put a lot of work and effort into the record, and i’d rather people not hear a web rip. mp3′s already dilute the actual sound of music and i don’t want it to sound even crappier with just a web rip.
so given those two facts what i have done is turn the record on our bandcamp into a pay what you want to record. ala in rainbows, or the museum of natural history. so if you want to pay nothing, all it will cost you is your email address. if you want to pay the suggested $8 or more feel free. we’d appreciate it.

Fresh off this year’s edition of his annual Paid Dues festival, Los Angeles rapper Murs presents the six-song Varsity Blues 2 EP, the sequel to 2002′s first installment. Murs (just about) kicks drugs and alcohol, pulls a gun on the ‘other guy’, dedicates one song to a dead love, another to a lost groupie, and ends by breaking clean with maybe his toughest habit, Los Angeles. Varsity Blues 2 is the sound of a young man strangling his weaknesses one by one, only to discover that nobody gets them all.
