Video: Nas Is Like (Sean-Toure Remix)
The East and West Coast tandem of Baltimore Producer/Emcee Sean-Toure’ and Oakland Film Editor and Producer Todd Kelley are back again with the next single off The Sean-Toure’ Remix Video Project.
The remix video for “Nas ls Like” debuted on Tuesday, September 10th on Todd’s Vimeo Page making it the 3rd clip by the duo to premiere on the social network in as many weeks (Previous 2 remixes were Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” and Jill Scott’s “Golden”). You can view all of the videos at https://vimeo.com/search?q=Todd+Kelley
The remix (Produced by Sean-Toure’) is a gritty track with chopped up B3 organs layered over hard-hitting drums and ethereal sounds added for accent. The sound is an updated/futuristic version of the original, but still reminiscent of the classic song originally produced by the legendary DJ Premier. Sean and Todd will be releasing a new remix and re-edited video every week until November 2013.
The Sean-Toure’ Remix Video Project is a FREE DOWNLOADABLE project featuring remixes for Jill Scott, Michael Jackson, Talib Kweli, Nas, J. Dilla, & many others. The project will be available on Tuesday, October 29th at www.seantoure.bandcamp.com. You can view all of the videos at https://vimeo.com/search?q=Todd+Kelley
(Remix mixed and mastered by Sean-Toure of Rosachi Music Group and Mark Carey of Street Legal Ent.
Free Mixtape: Devine Carama – It Was Rewritten: A Nas Tribute
After 4 leaks (The Message, Soul Dreams, Verbal Shootouts, & White Girl Lost) I’m finally releasing “It Was Rewritten: A Nas Tribute” in its entirety. It’s a concept mixtape based off of Nas’ classic sophomore album “It Was Written”. All productions reworked by Lexington, Ky producer 2 Mello. The mixtape features appearances from Sheisty Khrist, Webb (of Kuntry Noiz), YP, Marcus McClinton, & Heather Chula.
“I just wanted to pay homage to Nas who was the reason I first picked up a pen and began to write in the first place. I also feel “It Was Written” was one of the most slept on albums ever in the critical sense and I wanted to shed light on that particular record in hopes this generation would revisit more music from an era with musical diversity and lyrical dexterity.” – Devine Carama
