Free The Optimus is an Asheville, North Carolina based hip hop collective focused on bringing improvisational lyricism to jazz influenced boom bap soundscapes. Free The Optimus consists of C.Shreve the Professor, DJ Jet, Mike L!VE, Good Shepard, Ill Will, Phil Dangerous, She Carretta and Mind Ninjas.

You have to listen to a lot of music doing this, and you know, I need to be fair, I may not think your cup of tea but, if you can imagine others enjoying it and that artist is genuinely good at what they do it’s fair to post it. Not the case for me with this one, after the first time listening, I just put it on again… and again. From smooth songs to chilled ones, from grime like tunes to jokes tunes. These guys had all my favourite styles of hip hop covered in just one album so will have to give them credit for that straight up, and look forward to hearing more, this one will be a new go to album for me. Personal favourite, just for the jokes, has to be the tune “I can eat again” this tune has me in stitches every time. Also, everyone can relate to this one cause everyone has someone in their family or friends, that can always, eat again.
