Elzhi Interview with Splash Magazin

the german Splash Magazin had a talk with El…you already know the topic…

Elzhi on…

…Plans for a new Slum Village…

From 2002 to 2010 you had that era of Slum when El was a part of the group. Problems started around the Villa Manifesto EP time. At this time they threatened to take me out of the group. I had the feeling they were trying to brand a new Slum Village at this time and take it in a direction which was more like a pop kind of fanbase. Don’t get me wrong- I think Slum will always make great music, but those popfans don’t know nothing about the Slum Village legacy or Dilla, Baatin and me. They just care about songs played in the radio.

XXL interviews Elzhi, speaks on his relationship with T3

listenin to Elzhi on FM98WJLB right now and he just stated he is not making any money off Villa Manifesto… woooow

anyway.. XXL interviewed El yesterday and asked him about the whole SV situation…

Let’s cut right to the chase; are you in Slum Village now or not?

Elzhi: Am I in Slum Village or am I not? As far as what’s going on… As far as, like, me not having any say so to any treatments to videos being shot, or me not going to do the interviews to promote this new Slum Village album, or [Barack Records and T3] not contacting me or my management, and… as you can see in the “Reunion 2” video, I would say I wasn’t in the group. And at the same time, them taking me off records, so now I’m on a minimal amount a records for the [Villa Manifesto] album, I would say I wasn’t in the group.

Repost: Slum Village Interview (Pre – Villa Manifesto)

It was all good just a week ago

I interviewed SV about 3 years ago, back then the main topic was already Villa Manifesto and i was expecting it to drop much much sooner and I definitely didnt expect it to be their last album.. reading or hearing the interview you will understand what i`m talking about…Both T3 and Elzhi were very excited about the record at the time and said it would be one of the illest records ever.. well.. I thought it would be interesting to read this now, considering everything thats going on with SV right now..

Be real with the listeners man. Elzhi aint messin with yall man. Yall been playin him for years. Keep it real dog. Put it out there. Let the fans know dog… Ive been hearing the sideways things you’ve been sayin bout me man. You have single handedly dismantled the whole group dog. The End of Slum Village?

seems like Slum went from three to two, two to three, three to two and two to..None. we will see how this one works itself out

In his first tweet since March 8, eLZhi wrote, “Not sure what’s going on….I hope Slum Village’s label and T3’s manager respect what I do for SV. Either way I appreciate yall support.”

Later in the night, T3 wrote, “1 of all I never kick anyone out the group…” followed by, “2nd there is no new members in slum village! !!!!!” and, “3rd don’t chime in if you don’t know both sides. …..” He then followed up by claiming, “oh yeah one more thing. ..This is the last Slum Village Album…..”

Hex Murda, eLZhi’s manager, issued the following statement on the situation to XXLMag.com: “For all intents and purposes concerning eLZhi, Slum Village is defunct. This is the last SV LP. We look forward to bringing you eLZhi’s solo project, The Feed. Until then, check him out on Black Milk’s new opus, Album Of The Year, [in stores] 9/14.”
