Taking advantage of the lull between holidays, Asher Roth and Nottz have blessed us with an EP entitled Rawth, which is available for free download from Nottz’ label’s site,rawkoncept.com/rawthep. In just 8 short tracks, Nottz demonstrates his wide-ranging production talents to match Asher’s honest and clever lyrics. Featuring guest appearances from D.A. ofChester French,Rhymefest, and Kardinal Offishall, the album deftly combines the sonic influences, lyrical abilities, and subject matter from a rare mix of talents to create the ideal album.
The Rawth EP will be made into a special limited-edition 7” box set, which will be available in early spring.

As the December 27th release of Nottz & Asher Roth’s Rawth EP approaches, the unlikely duo continue to release tracks from the project to whet the appetites of fans. This latest track, “Gotta Get Up”features DA, one-half of Chester French, and kicks off with a flow of piano chords before Nottz’ own signature bass and drums kick in. As DA sings “Gotta get up, gotta get out, gotta get home before the morning comes,” Asher, in his patented laid back flow, spits tales of laziness and partying – and hoping to find a way to leave the party lifestyle behind.
Nottz & Asher Roth’s Rawth EP will be available for free download on December 27th. Fans can also look forward to having the EP as a physical collectors item, as the EP will be available on limited edition vinyl in 2011.

During October’s CMJ Music Marathon, DJBoothTV‘s own Jacques Morel had the chance to visit newly-opened Big Apple clothing store The Hundreds for a casual sit-down with Asher Roth, The Natural emcee (and freestyle series alum) Emilio Rojas and 4:57PM rapper Laws (also a freestyle alum). In the video below, produced in association with Fresh Out the Box, the artists peruse the shop’s dope selection and discuss what they each have coming up.
