It’s been only a few weeks since release and already the rave reviews have been pouring in for Gas Mask, the debut release from The Left. Now the Detroit trio comprised of producer Apollo Brown, rapper Journalist 103, and DJ Soko are proud to release the latest track from the album, “Desperation.” Fittingly, Apollo Brown kicks things off with an urgently soulful backdrop, mixing a bevy of horns and vocal chops for Journalist’s raps. “The main inspiration for this joint are the everyday struggles of inner city life,” says Journalist, as DJ Soko adds, “It’s about being caught between a rock and a hard place, about having your back against the wall and weighing the options between doing wrong or staying on the straight and narrow.”
Fans can also look forward to a video for “Desperation,” coming soon.
