“One More Trip” is the first video off the Flipsyde’s “Tower of Hollywood”.
Flipsydes latest album includes heavy lyrics about the labyrinth of the music industry which can be heard in the title track “Tower of
Hollywood”, as well as dark memories of drug abuse in songs like “One More Trip”.
“I’m Tired”, which was written during the Arab spring, paints a brutal picture of
worldwide injustice and serves as a warning shot to the powerful and indifferent.
In Flipsyde’s never-ending quest to be more than just music, Piper, who is also an
Actor and Screenwriter, paid his own way through a Bay Area police academy in
2010. Seven months later he had graduated at the top and found himself giving the
commencement speech. Shortly thereafter, Piper penned a one-man-play entitled Cops & Robbers in which he plays twelve different characters. Piper describes Cops and Robbers as, “A revolutionary look at the relationship between Law Enforcement, the Media and the Black community.” Cops and Robbers has been
met with an overwhelmingly positive response from both critics and fans alike. The
World Premiere was attended by actor/director Mario Van Peebles, the Mayor of the City of Richmond, professors and community activists as well as several police officers and city officials. Flipsyde singer Steve Knight was quoted as saying, “I’m proud to be a member of a group that can bring people together from such diverse backgrounds. We sat them down and forced them to listen. Everyone left here feeling on step closer to solving an age old problem.” A film version of the play is now in the works and will be completed by mid-2013.
Flipsyde’s message of optimism and overcoming adversity can be felt in all they produce. Whether music, film, theater or community service, this band strives to create the world they want to live in. Everyday the Flipsyde Family is growing larger and more inspired, join them today in a tidal wave of change that is transforming the world.
