SICHANGI – Last Place / Video

November 2021 (Nairobi, Ke)Sichangi, the multitalented polymath drops his FIRST solo music video. Having produced, written, recorded the track all in one day down at the Redbull Music Studio’s in Cape Town. The music video premiers exclusively on his YOUTUBE page at 09:00 EAT. The video which was shot in Cape Town, South Africa comes the same week that the full album ‘Soundtrack To A Heartbreak’ (aka S.T.A.H) rose to occupy the 6th position on Kenya’s most streamed album charts on ‘Music Charts 254’.

The track single ‘LAST PLACE’ is a special song from the project not only because it was the first single from the project but also carries a deeply personal of how Sichangi felt at a point in time. It is almost like a prayer of sorts, for the parts of us that know what it feels like to be put last and have your capabilities questioned, and how that can be a motivating factor for you to apply more pressure albeit hard when you aren’t reaping any benefits just yet from that  increased effort. And so you just let go of the expectation of when it should come and focus on doing what’s within your capacity. 

Sichangi says “I made the whole record in one day from top to bottom at the Redbull studios in Cape Town, and it’s one of those songs that just flowed through me, i didn’t really know what was going to happen when i got to the studio.”.
