When it comes to male artist is Hip Hop, it’s almost been a lot of artist who based their material on machismo. The most money, jewelry, cars, and the biggest houses. The last year, a lot of the male artist are being more emotional. “Emo rap” as some people call it, is slowly starting to get a few more listens by people with open minds. “Club Again” by Damar Jackson is one of those records, and a very good one. Over a slow gate effect synth, and 808 hits, Damar talks about leaving his woman, and starting back from square one. “Now I’m back up in the club again/now I’m back on these drugs again/I told myself I’d never love again/I can’t be the one suffering”. say Damar in a somber tone. King of Memphis Yo Gotti steps in to speak his thoughts with lines like “I’ve been trying my best to avoid you/push the end button/I ignored you/You on my phone again/You in my home again/won’t leave me alone again/God don’t like ugly/but you know I’m known to sin”. I think this is going to be a song that will be in rotation in the clubs heavily. I think Damar Jackson has a hit. Hopefully, he has more to come.
