Hip hop is not DEAD; it lives UNDERGROUND and will forever continue to grow like the roots of a tree. Spreading awareness of culture, lyrical consciousness and sublime beats. The breeding ground of diversity and where real, raw rap dwells. The art of storytelling., bringing forth unity and breaking all chains of oppression. Hip hop is Freedom of expression using verbal ammunition. An outlet of communication to the masses. A free flowing art lush with lyrical Picassos, painting mental pictures from Soul to microphone. Constantly evolving, yet eloquently preserving quality and substance. From the Bboys, beat boxers, & ciphers in the parks to ripping the stage in sold out arenas, to head banger tracks in your whips, to melodic tunes in your headphones. This is our life and forever we must stay true. The shine means nothing to a real Emcee, it’s the passion for the art and the message to deliver that is the purpose every time they step into booth. Glamorizing cars, money, clothes and big booty hoes is not the agenda.
Preservation and adaptation is the mentality of the new age Emcee. Striving for balance between lyrical content and mesmerizing beats. As good and evil exists, so does real and artificial. Real will always recognize real, we must support each other and spread the culture. The pen is always mightier than the sword. From battle rappers throwing verbal jabs to lyrical revolutionaries invoking thoughts of freedom; you can always relate to hip hop. It is more than just music, it is a lifestyle. Turntables, graffiti, break dancing, MPC battles, ciphers and DJ competitions keep the art of rap alive today. There are vast pioneers who showcase real artists with genuine talent, just do the research. Quality rap from all over the globe is still very much alive. Although we are separated by distance, hip hop unifies us and we will continue to build in this community to ensure that true talent receives the respect that they deserve. Real rap is something that you feel. Welcome to the new age Emcee mentality. One World, One Love, One Mic.

Gotta say this is a very inspiring quip about what makes hip-hop alive and well in an era where people make fun of “backpackers” and bow down to the artists that talk about “hoes” as their main priority. You’ve sold me on this blog by this alone.
