New Music: Clyde Kelly “Hayley (Fallin’)” – Listen/Share
Clyde Kelly’s new track which is dedicated to his girlfriend Hayley; is soothing while emphasizing the feeling of falling in love. The song’s inspiration came from the loved they shared while living on opposite coasts. Kelly’s sound has a feel good vibe similar to a Mayer Hawthorne track and it’s shared sentiment.
Kelly speaks on the place the song’s motive came from. “This is a song about the sensation of falling. Not just the weightlessness, but the helplessness. And how that’s analogous to falling in love. I wrote it for my now girlfriend Hayley about when we first met. I lived on the east coast, she lived on the west coast, and I wrote this when I was looking for a way to move. I eventually did move out to Long Beach. But at the time, I sat down to write and all I could write about was that gut feeling of falling.”
His previously released track Inner Strength off of the mixtape “Not Rich Yet” offers a refreshingly catchy sing along tune, but not all the tracks on the mixtape offer the same tone. Some songs such as “Lucy Dreams” and “Go” feature Kelly rapping to a much grittier sound.
