As New York City and the world are still talking about the legendary Lox vs Dipset Verzuz Battle, Rayne Storm drops his new single “Verzuz (Run This Shit)“, a cut off his upcoming Storms Coming III mixtape. Inspired by the recent Verzuz battle between the two major NYC staples, Rayne gets into his competitive bag with a track that plays like bait for other rappers to challenge him lyrically. Rayne pulls no punches with the punchlines, sending out a series of warning shots with several bars over a hard driving bassline, lunch table ready drum loops and vocal samples.
Although the song is more of an open challenge, the lyrics and attitude make it feel directly aimed at an unnamed target. Rayne also serves as the producer of the track with his trademark “FutureRetro” style, combining classic drumlines and futuristic melodies to create modern appeal.
The new single is already trending on Audiomack, has been featured on the Radio Zero podcast and is quickly becoming one of Rayne’s Top Tracks across the streaming services. If you’ve been missing some good ol’ battle bars in today’s Hip-Hop, add “Verzuz (Run This Shit)” to your playlist to get your fix.
