It’s rough in Chicago right now. With violence at damn near an all time high in the Windy City, a lot of people don’t realize that Chicago has created another sub-genre in hip hop called Drill music. Think of it as trap music’s violent ass cousin. The scene is thriving in the underground and has no signs of disappearing in to oblivion. A dope artist to check for from the Chi is Von Coleman. E Haynes gives Von Coleman an animated canvas of production for “In My Own World” with reverse pianos and lead synths that gives the listener a spaced out sound to zone out to. Von gets into party mode on the second verse that shows you a glimpse in to his wild life. “I’m never looking back when I move forward. Man, I love a woman on all fours. Let me stop tweaking right now. Let me just focus on the task at hand. Fuck is you saying? I done been in and out so many jams. I should have been canned. That must really man that God got a plan in store for me. You know what they say, “no nuts, no glory.” This track bangs, and will even make the most critical listener vibe out to it.
