This is the official music video for the gritty “Godzilla Gatorade” off of
Liberation of the Monster, the new album from rising Seattle MC Khingz. Khingz has gained a reputation in Seattle as a dope lyricist and recently opened for Blackalicious and Aceyalone. The song is produced by up and coming beatsmith Rel!g!on and the video is directed by Hayden Baptiste.
One of the highest respects that a hip-hop legend can offer to a rising artist is to invite that rising artist to take part in their own project. That’s exactly what happened when legendary Wu-Tang Clan rapper Raekwon invited Chicago’s L.E.P. Bogus Boys to take part in his Unexpected Victory EP. The project was highly lauded, and this collaboration, “This Shit Hard,” in particular, became a quick fan-favorite.
Today, L.E.P. and Raekwon are excited to release the official music video for the single. The track is just as aggressive as one might expect from collaboration that features Count, Moonie and Rae (“Fuck a middle man, I can get it direct/ Cook it up, watch it bubble in that Pyrex,” begins Count on the song’s chorus), and the video, directed by TEHO (Gregory Bussireth), fits the track well, with the three rappers holding court around a table cluttered with all of the essentials: drugs, money, jewelry, and Chinese food.
For L.E.P., being able to do the song and video with Raekwon was an honor. “Just to be able to work with a legend like Raekwon was enjoyable,” they say. For Raekwon, it was being able to work with up-and-coming act that he respects that made the track and video special. “To be able to bless something with new and upcoming talent was real. I think we all walked away with a new energy for hip-hop.”

On May 22nd, Casual, one of the most revered lyricists from the Hieroglyphics crew, will release his latest album, He Still Think He Raw. The album, a follow up of sorts to Casual’s He Think He Raw album released in 2001, will be produced entirely by DJ Fresh & The Whole Shabang, and to celebrate the announcement, Casual is excited to release the album’s Aris Jerome-directed debut video, “Tears.”
The song, produced by Scandle, a member of The Whole Shabang crew, opens with a soulful organ chops and a vocal sample singing, “Here I am on my job/ Trying to work/ But the tears in my eyes/ Won’t let me hide the hurt.” Casual plays off the somber vibe to detail hardships of trying to scrape by, whether as a rapper, drug dealer, or regular blue color worker striving to make ends meet. While the first verse skews general, Casual uses the second verse to detail the struggles between a pimp and prostitute, as he raps, “He’s just checking money, cause that’s a pimp’s job/ She work at strip clubs, and some temp jobs/ And it hurt her feelings, cause she was raised in church/ Now, when the pimp get money, all he say is, ‘Church.’”
Honest Management is proud to present the 11th and final visual single by Rashid Hadee taken from his album Aural Sex: The Search For Pinky Tuscadero affectionately titled The Coolest Chic. Directed by Dom V, this visual is the happy ending to a dating spree that simply sucked! It turns out that Pinky Tuscadero was right under Rashid Hadee’s nose all along, but in life, timing is everything and its good to see it worked out in his favor. The entire visual campaign (as well as the album) was extremely creative. The Coolest Chic finds Rashid Hadee in the midst of a hang out session at his apartment with the fellas (who happen to be notable Chicago artists and producer Sincerely Yours, Neak & Slot-A). On his way back into his apartment building, he bumps into a beautiful young lady that looks vaguely familiar who turns out to be exactly what he’s been searching for; The Coolest Chic. Conceptually, the placement of Pinky Tuscadero aka The Coolest Chic was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock who showed up (one way or another) in his movies and the visual concept for this album was set up the same way. When searching for the perfect mate, you never know what you’ll experience on the road to finding the one for you. Luckily for this Chicago emcee, The Search For Pinky Tuscadero resulted in him landing The Coolest Chic. The curtain is now closed on Aural Sex theatre…FIN.
Last year, Kyle Rapps released his On Air mixtape, sampling from the legendary French electro duo Air. Now, following the video for “Universe Traveler” with Talib Kweli, and a recently released video for “Bully” from his previous Re-Edutainment EP, Rapps is excited to release the latest video from On Air, for the single “Streets Move On.”
The video, directed by Mr. Complex, captures Kyle backstage at the now shuttered Southpaw in Brooklyn, mixing the footage with stark and poignantly shot images of Brooklyn and Harlem streets as Kyle makes his way around the city. For Kyle, the purpose of the song and the video was to show a side of Brooklyn that is too often forgotten. “I wanted to show how hungry shit is despite all the gentrification,” explains Rapps, “And also that there’s love in these streets despite the struggling.”
