With the release of their debut album, Blue In The Face, now less than two weeks away (15th December), West Yorkshire trio Verbal Contact reward fans for their patience and support by releasing a non-album track ‘Viet Cong’ as both a video and a free download.
Following on from heavily supported visuals like ‘Deteste,’ ‘Get Stoned’ and ‘Set The Mood,’ and having been recently named as ‘Ones To Watch’ by SB.TV. ‘Viet Cong’ utilises the trippy imagery of Blue In The Face’s album artwork, depicting the group amongst a crowd of blue balloons, shot by WY mainstay Paul Cockcroft.
The track incorporates Sonar Cousin’s signature big drums and heavyweight bass, with Matter and Prys trading off verses full of punchlines, including Matter’s short-and-sweet explanation of the track’s purpose…
“Always on point like Bart, Maggie and Lisa/ The album’s dropping soon, but this track is a teaser.”
