Taxes is a joint collaboration tape between rapper UFO Fev & producer Rich Lou (French Montana, Jadakiss, Chinx, Jim Jones fame). At only four tracks, the meaning behind this tape comes directly from the source, Fev –
“This album serves as a dedication to Doe – to the person, but also to the concept of money. Taxes are a compulsary contribution to state revenue, and this EP tell’s Fev’s story of paying back the system and rising out of his hood in Harlem.”
The lead single “Came Up” displays Fev’s new perspective on life, climbing out from a dark place. Featured Indiana rapper Lord Riddles compliments Fev’s New York flow with a more braggadocios bravado. On “From the Corner”, Brooklyn rapper Maffew Ragazino joins UFO Fev for a pure hip-hop medley. Two more tracks, “Player Prayer” and “Dedication to Doe” further expand on UFO Fev’s interpretation of Tax Season.
