“Niggaz think I’m overwhelming. Got ten bad bitches, and they go to Spellman. Bust 10 big nutts, feed them hoes Hellmans. Mayonnaise based, I like ’em thick, small waist. You in the way, unless it’s money involved in the place. I got a gun, put it to your muthafucking face”, says Stogied on “Homicide” from the 5 Finger Discount EP. This project from Heem Stogied and Ol’ Man 80zz is dope start to finish. You would think that ATL and T Dot would have nothing in common, but this album proves otherwise. Heem shines on every track, and really shows his range on songs like “Homicide”, “Wrist Game Proper”, and “Still Doing Time”. Over a strange vocal loop and piano keys provided by 80zz, Heem balances the eerie vocals and triple time hi hats saying “You a fuck nigga, wanna drop a dime, but all the OGs still doing time.” Ol’ Man 80zz does something that most producers cannot do when producing an entire album which is providing variety. Everything in his production changes on each track. One track it’s 808s and triple time hi hats (“Still Doing Time”), then it’s violins and spacey saxophones (“Homicide”), then it’s reverse loops and guitars (“Unorthodox Flow”). It’s a good balance, and works in favour of the artist and producer.
