A small city, big dreamer can describe Ron Beatty in simple wording. His hometown New Bern, N.C. may have been distant from the world’s radar, but his plans to reform music would soon be colossal. Music would provide a way towards freedom, or maybe even a chance to reform and shape his own realities. Pursuing a career in music only lasted a short while as a dream before his moves led him to founding mentors Noland Hicks & All-Terrain Music’s own Nervous Reck & Bobwire, who also assisted in the career launch of Roc Nation’s rap artist, J. Cole. After school at Winston-Salem State University, he reached back home for a definitive sound. His EP, The Empty Theater dropped and things have been on the rise ever since. With bold lyricism, authentic southern rap, and relevant issues being the forefront of his music, Ron Beatty plans to face the truths of a forever changing world. Now in Atlanta, GA he plans to seize exactly what it is he’s searching for. An opportunity. Not just an entry, but a clear definition to a legacy that’s already been written. He’s here to Manifest Destiny. And bring light to everything dark and unclear. Introducing Ron Beatty.
Mazzi and S.O.U.L// New tracks //Chai party //Heart of a lion ft. Eva Lazarus
Mazzi is from Jersey city, New Jersey and is part of a group called S.O.U.L. (Sense Of Understanding Life’s) Purpose. His track “Chai Party” is a banger with some home truths, anyone who enjoys Immortal Technique will probably appreciate this track, reminds me of his kind of style. The instrumental is dope a lot heavier than the other instrumentals i’ve heard on his other tracks, but goes just as well with his word flow. He uses a good range of instrumentals actually which I really appreciate as a lover of lots of different music genres.
His video release from last year shows his genre range with his song “Heart Of A Lion” featuring Eva Lazarus a up coming underground artist from Bristol, England with a beautiful voice. Their collaboration tune has a great reggae and dancehall feel to it.
Since sending me these tracks he has come out with his latest album which is also on his soundcloud so if you enjoy these tunes it’s worth checking out, hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did!

Rootwords// New track// “Layer Cake”
“Corruption is everywhere. Have a look around. Where can you not see any corruption? Nothing is pure anymore, not even the air. We are constantly being forced to choose the lesser of two evils, and some of us don’t even question our choices. We are a lazy generation, and machines do the majority of the work for us. We no longer depend on the natural cycle of the seasons for our needs, instead we violate the cycle of life by requesting what we want whenever we want. The world is off balance, and we continue to push the tilt.
The root of the problem is at the top of the pyramid. That is where the corruption is most rampant. The decisions and delinquency of those at the top trickles down and effects those at the bottom – who get hit the hardest. This is the layer cake.
Inspired by a fantastic digital new age riddim by Dubmatix, I wrote this song to remind people of where they are, what they are doing; and especially to ask themselves if they are aware of what is going on. The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t, so please just open up your eyes!”
