“Face The Music” is the first solo album by Valerio Delphi, a Dj and Rome based producer member of Tiger & Woods, an eclectic and internationally known House duo, which he’s part of with Marco Passarani, a veteran of the Italian Dance music scene.
The title reflects the reality awareness which is surrounding us – obviously embodied by the Covid-19 Pandemic one – tragic and complex also for the Clubbling scene.
That’s how Valerio Delphi, not much motivated to produce songs that for well known reasons could not be enjoyed yet on a dancefloor, found himself assembling a significant amount of tracks stilistically quite different from what we’ve been used to with Tiger & Woods.
His groove approach embodies a long-standing passion for Hip Hop. This is why “Face The Music” might be considered as a sort of hybrid between both a J Dilla and a Flying Lotus beat-tape and an instrumental album following Dj Shadow or RJD2 style.
Short tracks are interchanged with longer and more complicated ones mostly based on funk, soul and disco samples – Delphi personally chose to use samples taken strictly from his private records collection – realised by focusing mainly on the achievement of a particular sound impact.
