The 24-year-old female MC (hailing from the South Bronx, New York) known as vsteeze took a shot in the dark by reaching out via Twitter to the Hip-Hop Producer Funky DL from the UK in September of 2020. Showcasing a freestyle video over one of DL’s beats, DL was extremely impressed and immediately agreed to collaborate creatively with steeze and within just a few months, the two of them created and completed “The Lilac Pack”, a jazz inspired 4-track EP demonstrating the fresh and vibrant sound of vsteeze’s playful lyricism; coupled with the distinguished and mature sound of Funky DL’s pristine 90’s Hip-Hop themed production. The public reaction of the lead tracks “East Side” and “Butta Baby” has so far been remarkable for a debuting artist, whilst simultaneously championing the voice of a young, queer Latina female, who clearly deserves a place to ‘do her thing’ among the finest purists and authentic Hip-Hop Artists out there.
