The West Coast was blessed the day this group formed. Hip-Hop in general was blessed if you ask me. Rebels to the Grain is one of those groups that makes you get in tune the moment the boom meets the bap. They are not merely emcees. They emdoby the term. They move with an energy that is captivating and fun to be around. Makes you smile like you did when the music mediums put out more variety instead of format. Having seen these gentlemen perform a few times I can attest that each time has been different, yet the vibe has always been intact. If you see them on a bill I would most definitely recommend going to check them out. They have done a good amount of touring and in doing so, linked up with Hip-Hop elite (Mainstream & Underground) to continue doing what they do best and to do more for the Culture they love.
These gentlemen, oh excuse me….I’m sorry. Allow me to introduce. Emcees Cheddy & MP are the two that make up the group known to many as, Rebels to the Grain. To continue with what I was about to say, is that these two gentlemen took it upon themselves to not just be contributors to the culture in the sense many “rappers/emcees” do, by providing an outlet for other musically gifted individuals to get some shine in the same respects, respect like the legends and greats of Hip-Hop have had. Love on a REAL RADIO FORMAT. A TRUE HIP-HOP FANS STATION. One to definitely add to the hot list on your receivers.
Breakbeats & Rhymes Radio is that format. The platform. Breakbeats & Rhymes Radio is hosted by Los Angeles Hip-Hop duo, Rebels To The Grain and is broadcasted live each Sunday morning from 2-4 A.M.(PST) on 90.7 F.M. (KPFK). I HIGHLY recommend tuning in when you get a chance. The show has been blessed with the interviews and/or visits from Jeru the Damaja, Prodigy, Xzibit, Del the Funkee Homosapien & Dan the Automator, Vel the Wonder, Immortal Technique, Zoolay, Murs, Bobbito Garcia, Curren$y, Phife Dawg, Manifest Sound and ….YOU GET THE POINT. The Rebels are like the on spot L.A. reporters for the Hip-Hop community. They always play a variety of songs on their show. Some known and other not so well-known but in need of being such.

Another great benefit in my eyes to the Hip-Hop community and Culture. They may not remember it but I’ve spoken with both of these brothers and they are easy to approach and humble to the heart. It makes enjoying their performance worth it either in fore or after thought. I even have a copy of there ‘There’s Something in the Seeds’ album I got from them personally after a show, which I want to get autographed and then another copy provided so I can re-shrink wrap the signed one (as my tradition). Just my thing. I know a lot of talented folks and it would be a shame not to have a mint condition album should one of these groups find a cure for war or cancer or aids or something major in life and bring peace to all nations. lmbo. It’d be priceless. Truthfully speaking all jokes aside, I do view it as an honor to get a signature from an artist and even more so to have conversed with them.
This might as well be a tag line for me, lol, but be on the lookout for more on The Rebels to the Grain. They aren’t going anywhere but UP, in my book.
