Psymun is a Minneapolis producer who has credits working with local and nationally known artists such as Co$$, Scienze, Rich Garvey, 925ve, and others. His most recently released beat tape, entitled Marsh Pond – EP, is available for free download. Most of the 10 songs on the tape clock in at 2 minutes or less, but highlight Psymun’s strengths as a producer. The first half of the tape features looped jazz and soul samples that nearly lull you into a daze, until a nuanced flourish in the beat draws your attention back in. Little tricks like this present Psymun as a producer with a sophisticated attention to detail, and someone to definitely be on the lookout for in the future.
