Undaunted by licensing threats surrounding Cassettes Won’t Listen’s “Animal Ox” remix project, the timely Zilla Rocca (5 O’Clock Shadowboxers) and Curly Castro take a breather from their gallery of upcoming releases to drop a brief, more appropriate tribute to Def Jux trailblazers, Cannibal Ox. “Life’s Ill Redux” features the two trading angst-ridden verses over NASA & El-P’s production, reliving the vibe of the original version without undermining Can Ox’s trademark sound.
